Is Counselling Right for Me?

People often let a situation get extreme before calling for support. Much like waiting till our pain reaches a level 10 before calling a doctor? Why? What is it that makes us struggle and suffer for so long before making a call for support? Maybe because we’re engrained from an early age to be independent, figure things out, and told “everything will be alright”? Possibly. What is it for you?

Is counselling right for me? Well, let explore…

People come in the door for many different reasons – depression, anxiety, referred by a social worker, recommended by a probation officer, told by a parent or spouse they must go. Okay, so counselling could be helpful if any of these fit…

You feel:

  • Anxious
  • Panic
  • Overwhelmed
  • Confused
  • Angry
  • Depressed
  • Lonely
  • Inadequate

You struggle with:

  • Relationship issues
  • Setting boundaries
  • Lack of sleep
  • Sleeping all day
  • No appetite
  • Over eating
  • Over reactive anger
  • Addictions

You want to:

  • Communicate better
  • Resolve conflict
  • Find inner peace, freedom, connection
  • Connect to your hopes, dreams, passion
  • Make you a priority
  • Increase self-esteem

The list is endless really. And what about coming in for connection, peace, harmony, freedom, congruence and self-esteem? No matter what the reason for walking in the door – there is common ground. Which is to be more of me! For me to be me – not the stressed out ticking bomb that can go off at any time! So, are you at a level 10? Are you ready to make that step for you? I double-dog dare you to try!
